Pichulik has just released their Autumn Winter 2014 collection and it looks magnificent. The collection was inspired by the photography of Helmut Newton, who took intimate portraits of powerful women in their own personal space. The idea is all about close up encounters and this collection can definitely give you the confidence to do so. The jewel tones and wooden parts, suede and agate stone, tassels and bold colours, the collection reflects the glamour of 70s disco and the psychedelic soul.
Last night was the launch of Kate Moss’ collection for Topshop in London and it was attended by all the right people, if only I was one of them. The launch was held at the Topshop on Oxford Circus and Kate wore some looks from her collection and later a dinner was held at The Connaught.
Although it isn’t Spring in the Southern Hemisphere we can still appreciate this collaboration. Liberty London has teamed up again with Nike to create a collection of sneakers with Liberty’s famous heritage prints. The heritage prints are Anoosha, ’30s print featuring blossom and bell flowers; Lora, a print based on a ’70s version of William Morris’s ‘Willow’ pattern; and Crown, a design based on various paisley block prints from Liberty’s Merton print works in the late 19th to early 20th century. Though they were dug from Liberty’s archives the prints carry a timeless appeal and give the ubiquitous trainers a wonderful spring makeover.
Kate Moss has done another collection for Topshop but this time focusing on detail and fabrication to create more premium items. The model worked within four categories: Balearic, beachy island – inspired designs, Pyjama dressing done mostly with silk satins, Cocktail hour, which offers after dark ready tanks and dresses with beadwork and fringe, and finally Tailoring Noir, suiting and menswear details for Moss-acolytes.
Opening Ceremony has reached out to the surrealists for inspiration, in particular, Belgian artist, René Magritte. Take a look at the collection and try not to drool.
Mercedes Benz Fashion Week hit Johannesburg over the last weekend and there were some very exciting local designers. The collection I was eager to see was that of Marianne Fassler’s AW 2014 collection. Check out the collection here!
I’m having a flashback moment and I’m loving this look from Olivia Palermo. It’s really elegant but at the same time it’s cute. She was attending the Dior Autumn/Winter 2014 ready to wear collection and she dressed head to toe in Dior. The look is simple and refined yet it makes a statement, I guess that’s what one does when you are sitting first row at the Dior show and it’s your birthday!
The Hermes show at Paris Fashion Week was something that is going to inspire me for this coming winter season. If I could dress like this for the rest of the cold season, I definitely would! It’s sleek and elegant with simple colours and simple trims. Take a look at the collection here!
It’s what everyone has been speaking about the last couple hours… Jeremy Scott and Moschino at Fashion Week in Milan! Moschino wowed audiences during their Autumn Winter 2014 ready to wear collection. I’m sure some people are going to be sceptical but most people who appreciate the good things about fashion will certainly drool, I know I am.
Here is a great throwback for you, Prada’s Spring Summer 2012 campaign. Imagine is to be like Grease but more glamorous!
